Six Tips for a Successful Trade Show
by Advent Results
Preparing to attend a trade show can be a daunting experience, especially if you are traveling to one out of town. Making sure you have all the supplies you’ll need for the show is imperative so that the show runs smoothly and you are not running all around a town you may not be familiar with picking up last minute items.
A checklist of items you need to take with you, as well as a list of tasks that need to be completed before you leave for the show is a great way to make sure you are 100% prepared. Here are a few things to remember when preparing to attend a trade show:
–Take stock of your overall plans for the trade show. Ensure that your entire staff going knows their tasks and everyone has a grasp of what they need to individually accomplish.
–With the previous item in mind, it might be a good idea to schedule a team meeting before you leave so that everyone heading to the show is all on the same page.
–Research the city you are going to for potential places to entertain clients, after hours events, etc.
–Has your booth arrived at the trade show site? A very important fact to double and triple check. Arriving to a show with no booth means no show for your business.
–Make sure that all marketing materials are either packed with you to go, or shipped to the trade show. If they have been shipped, make sure you check to see they have arrived.
–Don’t forget any small items that you may need to do general business while you are on site: extra business cards, legal pads, pens and pencils, cell phone and laptop chargers, or any other items from your day to day desk that you may need to do business while you are away.
Of course this is just a very general list, but it never hurts to double and triple check everything you may need to ensure that you have the most successful trade show possible.
